Boarding at St. Bees School |

There are
five boarding Houses at St. Bees School. Two Junior Houses (Bega for
girls and Abbots Court for boys) accommodate pupils in small rooms with
a maximum of four sharing for their first four years at the School.
There are three Senior Houses (School and Grindal for boys and Lonsdale
for girls) where Sixth Form students have double or single study bedrooms.

| Although each pupil is the direct responsibility of a Housemaster/mistress, there is a comprehensive tutorial system operated by each House which allows academic progress, extra-curricular activity and social development to be monitored. Day pupils are attached to an appropriate boarding house. | |||||||||||||||||
| Weekend
Programme for Full Boarders The School offers an extensive and varied weekend programme for boarders. Recently these have included weekend trips to London, theatre excursions to Stratford, days out to York, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle, as well as cinema, ten-pin bowling, go-karting and paint-balling outings. |
