Scholarships and Bursaries

Academic Scholarships
Entrance Scholarships and Exhibitions up to the value of half the fees are awarded for entry into the First Form. The examinations take place in late February/early March; candidates will normally be aged 11 when they sit the examinations or will attain the age of 11 by the 31st August following.
Candidates for entry at 11+ take papers in Mathematics, Reasoning and English Language, and also write an English Essay. Specimen papers cannot be made available in advance because of copyright restrictions but details of the syllabus and sample questions can be supplied on request.

Music Scholarships
Music Scholarships up to half the value of the fees are awarded as follows:
Junior - for candidates aged under 11 at the auditions in late February/early March or who will be 11 by the 31st of August following. Expected entry standard Grade III

Sixth Form – expected entry standard Grade VII
A good singing voice will be an added recommendation

Art and Sports Awards
Details can be obtained from the Director of Marketing and Admissions.

Bursaries
A limited number of means tested bursaries are available – details can be obtained from the Bursar. Special bursaries may be available for children of the Clergy, serving members of H.M. Forces and Old St. Beghians (ex-members of the School).

Saturday October 4th 2008. Tours around the School start at 2.00pm

Monday May 5th 2008. Tours start from the Whitelaw Building at
11.00am/2.00pm
