Private boarding and day school NW England UK
English and Mathematics

In these two core subjects, it is important that pupils are presented with challenging work appropriate to their level of achievement inside and outside the classroom.

Mathematics is set from the First Form (Year 7) and many of our pupils enter the annual UK Mathematics Trust Challenges in all three age categories.

The English Language and Literature courses cover a wide range of skills from reading and writing through to speaking and listening. A variety of texts (poetry, prose and drama) are utilised by the English Department from Shakespeare through to 20th century authors.
