Public Speaking and Debating

St. Bees School believes that Public Speaking and Debating are important life skills.

All pupils are encouraged to develop these skills during their time at the school through specific activities such as the 'Presentation' lessons which form part of the Award Lower Sixth Course, through an inter-form Debating Competition which takes place throughout every Easter term.

Finally students participate in local and national competitions organised by the Rotary Clubs, the ESU (English Speaking Union) or the Oxford Union.
