The school council was established in the Autumn of 2008 to facilitate communication between the SMT and the student body. This is an emerging group at the school which is sure to increase in importance as it develops. Currently the student representation flows from the active school houses, which in turn put forward representatives to the School Council as well as other representative bodies in the school (like the Catering and Charity Committees).
The Council provides students with the opportunity to take on school wide initiatives and to make recommendations for improvements. Also, the SMT consults with the council on matters of policy and structure. The school council gives students the opportunity to grow in their leadership and communication skills which will help them when they leave the school.
