There are a range of programmes on offer which provide students of all ages and abilities the opportunity to develop their golfing interests and standards appropriate to their personal ambitions.
'PREP' Programme
Designed for the PREP department, we provide a fun and enjoyable introduction into the game; presenting opportunities and experiences that infants, of all abilities, desire.
'STANDARD' Programme
Designed for mainstream school, the aim of our 'Standard' Programme is to offer all our students the opportunity to try and play golf; whilst offering the more competent golfers the chance to practice, play and compete.
'ADVANCED' Programme
Designed as an optional extra to all members of the school, the 'Advanced Programme' offers students the opportunity to have individual training that is tailored to their needs and expectations.
An extensive amount of competitive golf is offered all year round, presenting all our students with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their competence across an array of spectacular golf courses. We operate with two squads: a 'Junior Squad' and a 'Senior Squad'; students from the 1st - 4th year form the Junior Squad and students from the 5th - 6th year form the Senior Squad. In addition to the level of competition on offer, all students can gain and maintain an official 'CONGU' handicap, which will be monitored and adjusted in relation to their performances throughout the year in the following events:
Matches played against opposing clubs and schools
- Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) events
- St Bees School 'Order of Merit'
- External golf club competitions
- Golf trips/tours
- Open invitations
Throughout the Easter Holidays, May Half Term and Summer Holidays a series of events are offered which ensure our students have the opportunity to gain maximum benefit from the outstanding provision of Golf through St Bees.
